What is a QR code?

QR codes are small images with encoded data that store information to be retrieved later. This information can contain just about any data, but is mostly used to store URLs to web pages. When the QR code is scanned with a QR scanner (usually a camera app on smartphones) the information is extracted. If the data in the QR is a website address a browser will be started and will dislpay the web page.

What is an ItemTraQR Campaign?

A campaign is a collection of similar QR codes. This may be a product line, all items in a department, or just similar types of items. The output of a scanned QR is defined by the display settings of the campaign.

Getting Started:
  1. Register on the ItemTraQR site.
  2. Confirm your email by clicking the link in the conformation email that was sent to you.
  3. Log in to ItemTraQR.
  4. Select ‘Manage Campaigns’ menu item.
  5. You can change the name or add a description to the default campaign by clicking the edit button on the ‘Campaign 1’ row.
  6. Click the ‘Display Settings’ button on the default campaign row.
  7. Select the Output Template. This determines the screen shown when a QR is scanned.
  8. If you want to show a page header, check the page header checkbox.
  9. If you want to show an item header, check the item header checkbox.
  10. Determine how many fields you need to use and the best size for each. Notice the available character lengths on the form. Check each field you want on the form, and give them a corresponding label name.
  11. Click the ‘Save’ button to save your entries.
  12. Select the ‘Manage QRs’ menu item.
  13. Click the ‘Create New QR’ button.
  14. Enter a descriptive name.

  16. Enter data for all relevant fields on the form.
  17. Click the ‘Create’ button to generate the QR.
  18. You will now see the new QR on the Manage QRs form.
  19. Now add this QR to webpages, or print it, for others to scan.
That’s it.
